A Day in the Life of a G Monkey

What not to wear - the three year old version! On Thursday around 2:30, I asked the G Monkey to get dressed to go pick Sister up at school.  This is how she came out of her room.  In a light green striped shirt, pink and blue striped shorts, hot pink socks, black suede shoes and a blue bow.  Believe me, the picture doesn’t do it justice.  When I asked if she would like some help finding something that matched she replied with an elaborate story of how there was once a girl she knew at MOPS, who doesn’t go there anymore, but dressed in this EXACT outfit.  Except she had a BIG, WHITE bow!  Where was our big, white bow Mommy?  Well, this child lost it last time I tried to get her to wear a bow in her hair.  This, our second daughter, teaches me so much everyday.  I would never have let our first child leave the house like this, although, I don’t think she would have wanted to.  And, let me say that this is one of her more conservative outfits.  She has been known to wear, tutus, pajamas, Christmas socks in April (today) two different shoes and she is famous (in our family anyway) for wearing her shoes on the wrong feet.  “I like them that way Mommy!”  When strangers stare, I try to just grin and bear it but I admit that I sometimes feel the need to throw in that she dressed herself.  Like anyone would think I did it!

Happy Weekend!
